Solroa
"The Mistress of Might"
(Soul-row-uh)
-Icons & Dominions-
Holy Symbol: A Sun backed by a weapon, traditionally a sword, however arrows and tridents have been used as well. Naturally a sign of combat, yet the followers of the faith deem the symbol to be based more so in the sense of pride and honor in glory rather than needless bloodshed and war; a sigil of defending rather than assaulting.
Domain: The Al Baseid Desert
-Ext: The Al Baseid Desert is unlike any other domain of the deities, for it does not remain out of reach of mortals. The desert is the home of many beasts, and the native humans of Yandora, known as the Kaspari, have roamed these arid lands for many generations, as such the Kaspari have worshiped Solroa and crafted great monoliths in her honor. While her presence in the sands is not one of sight, the clerics and sand consumed fanes of yore still laud her sway over the desert plains. Images carved into the walls of long forsaken temples buried deep below the waves of sand depict Solroa's watchful eye over the desert as the searing Sun. The faithful believe that the Al Baseid desert is Solroa’s holy land, but she does not inhabit it, rather she remains up above, in the sky, watching them as the immortal Sun on high.
Followers: Humans (Kasparic, Deljian, Loun’nan), Lizardmen (Naga), Goblins (Orcs, Goblins, Hobgoblins)
Paragon: Paragon of War, Power, Love, and Lust
-Mastering: Mistress of Fire, Desert, Sand, Blood.
Heraldic Colors: Red, Tan, Copper, Orange
-Heraldic Beasts: Hawks & Serpents
Clergy Alignments: Lawful Good, Chaotic Good, Lawful Neutral, Chaotic Neutral, Lawful Evil, Chaotic Evil
Favored Weapons: Sabers, Bow and Arrow
Wedding: When two meet to become whole as one both must spill thine blood to mark the other, ye whom cross blood with intertwined fingers show most eternal devotion bar nil. To mark this passage into a new life both must part with an object they hold dear and offer forth these items to one another as proxy for surrendering thine body and soul alike. Finally as all is beheld by Solroa's eyes they must light a white candle with a dry reed, a hand from both must rest upon the reed and light it no longer as the other but now as one and one alike.

-Dogma-
War: Those whom follow the grace of Solroa accept peace as common, but to shy away from the threat of war is akin to shying away from the glorious visage of Solroa. Peace is to be enjoyed as it remains, respected even, yet the blades of men and women must never grow dull lest thine hearth grow dim and thine body be split in twain. Fear not that which comes forth, for thy path is guarded until eve when all is dark, and then thee must carry the burden of flame on high so that even the shadows that stand before ye would feel the fear of Solroa's vigor. Accept the blood of your enemies with haste, let not the plea for mercy be beckoned until the foolish have been driven home once again where they may never burden the dunes of Al Baseid.
Power: Power comes from thine soul which burns as the brightest spark on high, ye blood flows as life runs through thy most sacred of vessels. Take heed to partake in that which may better one's self, change thee for another after thy change comes forth for thyself. Beckon to the call of ye will so strong, regard ye strength with grace rather than pride, as man or woman thine place is to be understood yet relished. Power doth charm thee with a fervor so grand it would intoxicate the whim of masters and servants, the ambition wiles most petulant are thy duty to shun.
Love: To cry, to bleed, to laugh, to suffer, to struggle, all that ye must face shall come about as blows thrust upon ye by the fates of the realm. Fret not, fear not, for the warmth of another to be intertwined with thine self is the sweetest of nectars. Laud brightly and with joy at the spectacle of love, to wed is the debt one would place upon another, binding with blood and oath of loyalty to remain true to the flames of passion. By the decree of thy tongue, should thee slay one whom has surrendered thine heart to another then rest thine spirit to the ground as ye would a brother.
Lust: Partake in the flesh as a glutton would wine, yet shed nil a sliver of sweat upon the harlots that roam the land if thine have given heart and home to another, to partake in such an act shall draw unspeakable ire. That which is aside must also be cast asunder, to taint the sanctity of one betrothed is a cruel act that brings curses innocent hearts to spite. To be consumed by thine lust is a sin most unforgivable, harbor not the thief that plunders that which no right has been given for this one is more so a beast than any other.

-Rites-
Burial: Rest eternal shall be held within a tomb which curls deep into the ground, as it winds it must delve to depths unheard of to reach a halt where Solroa eye may spy no longer. Upon the eve of a thousand souls lain, seal the tomb in such a manner that it may only be opened once more only from within. Be most aware to dot the walls with fire and lines the ground with glim unlit so even in passing the darkness within needn't be everlasting. The betrothed must have thine hands bound together in death, never to part once more. Warriors whom have fell in strife shall carry the burden of their armor and weapon as a sign of their devotion to their kin so that they may be revered far unto next life.

-Clergy & Churches-
The faith of Solroa has long since shifted to her milder teachings as the new era came about, the ancient ways of bloodshed and war have long since been faded into the age of yesteryear. The Kasparic people who once held Solroa to the highest regard have become enamored with other faiths and the Druidic belief in the Pantheonic rule of deities standing in harmony. While the more violent words of Solroa have seemingly faded, the many rites and legends remain forever withstanding among her followers. In this age Solroa has been more often depicted as a lovely woman of absurd beauty, yet many of the more tradiation followers see this as disgraceful to the true countenance of Solroa. Sadly there is much division among Solroa's followers further weakening the unity of the clans of the Al Baseid desert.
The Kasparic humans which are the sole human natives of Yandora have faithfully followed Solroa as their Paragon for countless generations, they following is so ancient that it predates the modern eras insofar no scholar can aptly say when the religion took root in the region. The Deljia people were the second kinsmen of humans that took interest in the faith when they began to intermingle with the Kasparic people during the first era, even so their devotion to Varnoc remained adamant to the point where a Cult of Duality featuring both Paragons was created; this cult was quickly assimilated by the Pantheonic style of belief in the Paragons.
Perhaps the strangest members of the supposed Clergy of Solroa are the Naoka of the Al Baseid desert, an snake-like offshoot of the Lizardmen populous native to the desert. Naoka are notable for inhabiting foregone temples and tombs that had once been enveloped in the sands of the desert, they wear crude garb of heraldic robes dyed a crimson red or gloomy tan. Unlike the many of the modern day Kasparic Clerics, the Naoka are deathly loyal to the classical manner of the faith, ripe with bloodshed and power.
All the temples were orginally built in a stairway to the sky fashion with large staircases leading to the zenith where clergymen would pray and ancient rites were held. Temples in honor of Solroa are formed from hardy sandstone of both blood-sand and the sands of Al Baseid, colored clays collected from the mesa lands to the west of Al Baseid were used for their heraldic shades to give the temples a more vibrant appearance. Upon meeting the meeting of the Deljian people in the first era the Kaspari began using the foreigners blue stone of lapis lazuli within the temples as offerings to Solroa. Much of the former grand temples of Solroa have been buried in desert storms which whipped moved the sand dunes as the tidal waves of the sea would move across the land, only three of these marvels can still be seen unfettered by the sands of time.
Upon this era the temples of Solroa take on a much more modest view, rarely will anyone attempt to craft such a deed as the ancient temples, and even those who attempt such a feat often fail. Nowadays the Clergy find their faith within chapels bound to castles or wealthy estates, and even a shoddy yet still viable pauper's church. Before the Ancient Temples came the forsaken Temple-Mausoleums of the eldest age of the faith, these temples were almost entirely the same as the temples of yore but their purpose was far more sinister...
