Preface
We of the staff have agreed upon these rules imposed upon the players as a means to maintaining a thriving and quality Roleplay server. I personally broke the rules into a few categories so everything is widely know. this will also be a downloadable document. The rules are broken up into four sections, they are as follows; General rules, forum rules, teamspeak rules, and roleplay rules.
The General rules are defined as being the rules that would apply on the server, many of them are the most important rules any player will have to come across so learn them well.
The Forum rules naturally apply to the forums, as well as the teamspeak rules holding weight over the teamspeak server.
General Rules
1. No Griefing
*Griefing is a punishable offense, the range of the damage ranges from jailing, to appealable perm-ban depending upon the damage and the testimony of the Griefer. Should a Griefer deny the accusation in the face of clear guilt they may be banned for an even lengthier period, be certain to remain collected during these accusations and proceed with logic.
*Griefing doesn't always require destruction either, using your ability to create for malicious or generally intentional mischief purposes is also warranting of a Griefing ban depending on the severity as determined by the staff member.
2. No Harassment
*Sexual Harassment is an almost universal perm-ban with a thin chance at appeal, when someone is accused of sexual harassment a lengthy investigation shall precede until a judgement can be passed. Sexual harassment can be defined as writing illicit texts about another player or any of their intellectual property to be used as a proxy, this extends to any images depicting sexual or depraved actions done without the player’s consent or age taken into consideration. Obey the law.
*Abuse/demoralizing harassment is not allowed, we seek to hold peace and mutual respect for all players and it is to that end that we active discourage and disallow players from taking petty disputes or arguments from reaching a critical point. Continuous abuse of a player through insults or various other means will be regarded harshly, do not become a source of conflict, if you can not get along then simply ease away from each other and leave your anger to rot. Avoidance is a good solution, but at some point hopefully both players may hold onto ends of the olive branch.
*Do not use the images of other players in a negative fashion. Cropping, editing, or any other tomfoolery without the player’s consent is a bannable offense.
*No not start or contribute to flame wars.
3. No Game Breaking
*Sell, trading, and giving way spawned items of any sort is a bannable offense. Repeat offenders risk losing their kits, or custom kit, removed entirely.
*Abusing one’s granted perks for their own personal gain in Roleplay or economic domains is considered a breach of the rules. Examples include using your modifiers beyond the allowed amount for your rank to overwhelm people in combat, using /fly as a justification to fly in RP, and just about anything else that may be considered abusing rank perks.
*Stealing and Free-killing are both not allowed in any way, players must use the wager arena for wager PvP matches.
*Using glitches to dupe or hacks, nodus or other hacked clients are perm-bannable on the first offense. No x-ray mods or texture packs.
*If you’re unsure if a mod is not allowed please contact a staff member so they may discuss it and and answer you.
4. No Discrimination
*Do not haggle, harass, harm, or hate other players simply because their values differ from your own, this includes religiously, ethnically, sexually, and ethics-wise among other things
*Do not insult another’s religion or general faith, this would be seen as intentionally seeking discord and disputes, an act that must be dealt with swiftly.
*Try to keep your personal opinions non-vocal, we do not wish to know of your political leanings, religious beliefs, sexual preferences, and on and on, we came here to have a good time. While it is not a rule in some senses, do yourself and us a favor by keeping your personal views personal.
5. Censored Material
*Posting of any pornographic, sexual, nsfw, nsfl, gorey, or generally undesirable images, stories, and media is not allowed on the server, if you wish to show that sort of content to your friends don’t use any server of Slain to do so. This rule extends to the server, the forums, and Teamspeak.
*There will be no censorship of words on Slain to begin with, we hope that the actions of the players will maintain this rule. No word shall be banned from chat but it is our deep hope that all players act with maturity and rationality when they speak. The only words that players are not able to use are ones that are deemed overtly racist and offer nothing to any discussion or conversation.
6. Respect Staff
*A very broad and simple rule, players are to respect the decisions of staff and their actions for the most part. If a staff member requests that you cease and desist then adhere to their command for the better, however we understand that staff members are still human and like all humans are full of imperfections. If you feel as if though a staff member is abusing their power do not hesitate to report this to the owner, Zelgadis.
*DO NOT ASK FOR OP, MOD, ADMIN, OR ANY STAFF POSITION UPON JOINING THE SERVER OR YOU RISK AN INSTANT BAN!
Forum Rules
1. No Spam
*Generally self-explanatory, do not continuously post the same thread or post on the forums, mass posting of a single thread into numerous sub-forums for recognition or anything of the sort shall be considered malicious to the well-being of the forums and by proxy the server.
*Also refrain from spamming the shoutbox and other players via PM or other means.
2. No Necro’ing
*If a thread’s final post was over 3 months ago, let it slide. This should be considered more so a guideline than a rule but continuous necro’ing is something clearly against the rules.
3. Extension of the General Rules
*The General rules naturally apply to the forum as well.
Teamspeak Rules
1. No Disruptive Noises
*Loud screeches, intense feedback, or mass channel hopping for the sake of annoyance rather than confusion. Any action deemed intentionally disruptive will be met with proper recourse.
*Using voice changers to increase your voice to painfully high pitched Micky Mouse on helium levels is not advised as well.
2. Extension of General Rules
*The general rules naturally apply to the TS server as well.
